NEW ERA, NEW EUROPA BANKNOTE:

 

ICT is ready for New Series of Euro Banknotes

The European Central Bank (ECB) and the national central banks (NCBs) of the Eurosystem are to launch a second series of euro banknotes in the coming years gradually, starting with the €5 banknote in May 2013. The new series is called the “Europa”. With enhanced security features, the new euro banknotes are built with higher protection level against counterfeiting.


According to the European Central Bank (ECB), the Europa series €5 banknote will be unveiled in full on 10th January 2013. ICT (International Currency Technologies) has fully prepared for the new €5 banknote and has already done the banknote software development. ICT is expecting to get the new €5 banknote sample from ECB on the coming January and the testing will be started right after that. ICT’s top selling models will be ready before €5 banknote is introduced in January 2013, and the software upgrade programs will be completed at the same time for the existing installed base. ICT Bill Acceptors will be able to accept both new and old €5 banknotes.
